Parliamentary Workshop – 2 Sessions online.

The Northern Virginia Marching and Gavel Society (NOVAMAGS) unit is conducting a parliamentary workshop of two sessions. The sessions are Saturday, December 3, and Saturday, December 10, from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m on Zoom. The workshop is designed to enhance your knowledge of parliamentary procedure as well as prepare you to take the National Association of Parliamentarians® (NAP) membership exam.

The exam consists of 40 questions taken from a group of 100. All questions are based on information from Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised in Brief (RONRIB), third edition. The workshop will cover and review all information on the exam. The book can be purchased from your favorite bookstore, Amazon, or NAP® for less than $10. (RONRIB can be read in its entirety in about two hours.)

As a member of NAP®, you can attend free workshops and webinars on various aspects of parliamentary procedure, and learn how to help your organization achieve its purpose and mission more effectively.

The workshop is only $10. To Register: Click here

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is this event taking place? The event will be held virtually through Zoom.
Do I have to attend both sessions? While you do NOT have to attend both sessions, we believe attendees that do will get the most out of the experience. If there is a substantial number of attendees who can only attend one session, we are open to doing a third/make-up session.
If I attend this event, will I become an NAP member? Membership in the National Association of Parliamentarians requires passing an exam on parliamentary procedure. This event will prepare you to pass the exam, but you will need to register for the exam separately with NAP (, which has an additional cost.

In honor of Parliamentary Law Month in April, the Chesapeake Unit of Parliamentarians presented 4 copies of the new 12th Edition of Robert’s Rules of Order to the First Colonial High School Library. The books will help their FBLA students to study and prepare for current and future FBLA competition.
The school librarians were thrilled to receive the donation.
